Panchayat Season 2 Review: Smiles, emotions and love in this panchayat of Jitendra Kumar… all according to taste

Panchayat Season 2 Review: In the last few years, there has been a flood of content on OTT and there is a lot of genre series like crime, thriller, suspense, romantic. Amidst all this, there is a series like Meethi Si Fuhar, TVF’s web series ‘Panchayat Season 2’. The way the first season won the hearts of people with its fresh style, it is obvious that the fans were eagerly waiting for the release of this series for the second season as well. The release date of this series was announced by Amazon Prime on May 20, but a sudden shocking news came for the fans when the series was released on Amazon Prime Video not one or two days ago i.e. on Wednesday night itself.

What is the story of ‘Panchayat 2’ this time?
Abhishek Tripathi (Jeetendra Kumar) is the panchayat secretary of Phulera village and in the first season he befriends Vikas (Chandan Roy), the village head (Raghubir Yadav) and Prahlad (Faisal Malik), the deputy head. In the first season, we saw that Abhishek wants to do a private job in a multinational company with a big package, but he finds himself stuck in this village job. Where the first season ends, the second season starts exactly 2 months after that. Now Abhishek has become used to living in this village. Now he has got a little adjusted in the environment of this village, although it is still his plan to leave this village after giving his exam in a few months. Like the first season, all the characters are still the same. Yes, this time Pradhan ji’s daughter Rinki (Saanvika) has a new entry in the show.

See, when the OTT fever had not even spread, TVF started creating such content in the world of web series and digital, in which the saying ‘content is king’ started moving forward. This maturity of TVF can be clearly seen in the web series of director Deepak Kumar Mishra. In the process of making season 2, we have seen web series spreading, wandering and getting ruined, but in reality, the skill of how to take the story forward can be learned from this series. In the character of Abhishek Tripathi, Jitendra Kumar has shown maturity with ease. Abhishek no longer pulls on everything like in the first season, rather he has learned to smile here. But it is not that he is making plans to settle here after a sudden ‘change of heart’. Abhishek is the hero of this series but he is not a hero-superhero, he is a human being… with whom you can relate.

In fact, the most important thing about the content of TVF is its simplicity and its commonness, the story of such people who we feel like you and us. This is also the specialty of the story of Panchayat 2. This web series of Amazon Prime has 8 episodes and each episode is of about 35 to 40 minutes. In the story of the first episode, the director has very cleverly got Prahlad and Vikas to answer all those questions, which arose in your mind after seeing Abhishek and Rinke at the water tank at the end of the first season. In the era of ‘a boy and a girl can’t be friends..’, due to the chemistry between Sachiv and Rinki, while watching the series again and again, you would think ‘Ab kuch hoga aur tab kuch hoga’.

This time Jeetendra has been seen giving equal competition to Chandan Roy i.e. who has made a lot of change in his style along with full screen time. At the end of the first series where you finally saw a ray of hope and love in Jeetendra’s life, this time the last episode will make you cry. In the end, the scene between Prahlad, Pradhanji, Vikas and the Secretary in the Panchayat office leaves you shaken.

In this series, Sanvika is not ‘gaon ki gori’ but village ki saanwali, and what has she got. She has looked very beautiful on the screen. Whenever Rinke appears on the screen, it is difficult to take our eyes off her face. My only complaint is that it would have been better if Rinke’s character was explored a little more in this series. In the end, if asked, then this series must be seen and if you have seen the first season, then you must see this world of Phulera village in the new season.
